Notre-Dame du Bon Secours in Brussels. Built between 1664 and the late seventeenth century on the site of the former chapel of the Hopital Saint-Jacques, the baroque church is named after a statue found at this location in 1625 and regarded as miraculous. Executed according to plans of J. Cortvrindt, construction of this building, brought the choir to the front, saw a succession of two architects: P.-P. Merckx and G. De Bruyn. Restored several times, the church made mostly of sandstone impressed by the balance of proportions, the play of volumes, ribbed dome hexagonal plan and very simple decoration.
